Verulam Point is an impressive looking building comprising 53,000 sq ft of corporate offices. Although built in 1991, the building looks remarkably new, having has recently undergone a major refurbishment overseen by managing agents, Drivers Jonas LLP.
Drivers Jonas ordered a new CCTV system as part of the refurbishment programme. “The original CCTV system which
we inherited from the previous managing agents, was well past its ‘use by date,” said Adrian La Riviere, Drivers Jonas’
onsite Building Manager. “It had done a good job but the cameras used outdated technology and only captured black
and white images. We wanted to take advantage of the latest digital technology so that we could maximise the return on
our investment in a new CCTV system.”
Thirteen Samsung Techwin day/night cameras with lenses, a combination of fixed cameras, fixed domes and speed
domes, have been installed at Verulam Point which together allow security personnel to monitor 24/7 of all activity
on the site. “There has never been a major security issue at Verulam Point but we want to ensure that our tenants’
employees can work in a safe and secure environment,” added Adrian. “There is no doubt that the new CCTV system,
and in particular the speed dome cameras, act as a powerful deterrent to unwanted visitors and allow our operators to
watch staff leaving late at night to ensure their safety.”
